Enabling offline mode allows players to join your Minecraft server without Mojang account authentication. Though it comes with security risks since usernames cannot be verified.
Caution
Enabling offline mode means anyone can join your server while using any username, including impersonating other players or Admins. This makes your server vulnerable to exploiters and griefers.
Enabling Offline Mode
- 1Access the Game Host Bros panel and
Stopyour Minecraft server. - 2Go to
File Manager. - 3Open
server.properties, setonline-mode=tofalse, and then click save. - 4Start your server.
Security Recommendations
When running in offline mode, consider taking these security measures:
- Install an authentication plugin to require players to register and login with passwords.
- Regularly backup your world in case of griefing.
