How to Set Player Idle Timeout on Your Minecraft Server

Idle timeout automatically kicks AFK players after a set number of minutes, enabling idle timeout is useful for server management by freeing up server slots.

This is what you do if you want to set player idle timeout on your Minecraft server.

Setting Player Idle Timeout

  1. 1
Access the Game Host Bros panel and stop your Minecraft server.
  2. 2
    Go to File Manager.
  3. 3
Open server.properties, edit player-idle-timeout= to your desired value in minutes, and then click save.
  4. 4
    Start your server.
Tip

Set the value to 0 to disable idle timeout completely. Setting it to a positive number (like 30) will kick players who are idle for that many minutes.
