How To Configure Your Squad Server

At Game Host Bros, we've integrated the main Squad settings directly into our game panel. Here's how to quickly and easily configure your new Squad server.

Configuring Your Squad Server

    Log in to Bropanel and select your server.

    In the sidebar, go to Settings.

    Edit the settings you'd like to change.
  4. 4
    Click Save & Restart to apply your changes.

Squad Server Settings List

Setting NameDescription
Server NameThe name of your server shown in the server browser. Default: Hosted By Game Host Bros
Server PasswordThe password players need to join. Leave it blank for a public server. Default: none
Max PlayersThe maximum number of players that can be on your server at once, from 1 to 100. Default: 80
Reserved SlotsSlots kept free for admins and members with the reserve permission. Default: 0
Advertise ServerShows your server in the in-game server browser. Default: Enabled
Allow Team ChangeLets players switch teams. Default: Enabled
Prevent Team Change If UnbalancedBlocks a team switch that would leave one team more than 3 players bigger than the other. Default: Enabled
Enforce Team BalanceForces team balance when the teams are too uneven. Default: Enabled
Record DemosSquad's RecordDemos option. Server demos are recorded with admin commands. Default: Enabled
Workshop ModsSteam Workshop mods to download and load, by ID. Default: none
Auto UpdateUpdates your server to the latest Squad version on every restart. Default: Enabled
RCON PasswordThe password RCON tools log in with. Default: random

Editing Server.cfg

Every other Squad setting, such as server tags, the public queue size and the map rotation mode, is in Server.cfg. The settings above are written into Server.cfg every time your server starts, so change those in Settings. Everything else in the file is yours to edit.

    Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.

    In the sidebar, go to Files.

    Navigate to SquadGame/ServerConfig/ and open Server.cfg.

    Edit the settings you want, then click save.

    Start your server.
