In this guide we will show you how you can quickly install Steam Workshop mods on your Squad server.
Note
Workshop mods are downloaded and updated every time your server starts, so changes apply after saving and restarting your server.
How To Get Your Workshop Mod IDs
You will need the Workshop ID of each mod you want to install. You can view all the Squad mods here.
Once you find the mod you want, copy the URL. Let's use this URL for example: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1234567890
As you can see from the numbers in the URL, our mod ID is 1234567890
Installing Mods in Settings
- 1Log in to Bropanel and select your server.
- 2In the sidebar, go to
Settings. - 3Under
Modding, add the IDs for the mods you want toWorkshop Modslike this.- For a single mod:
1234567890 - For multiple mods:
1234567890,2345678901
- For a single mod:
- 4Click
Save & Restartto apply your changes.
Your server downloads the mods and loads them on start. To uninstall a mod, remove its ID from Workshop Mods and restart; the server deletes it for you.
Players who don't have your mods are asked to download them when they join your server.
Playing Modded Maps
Mods that add maps only come up once their layers are in your rotation. With the default map voting, add the mod's layer names to LayerVoting.cfg in SquadGame/ServerConfig/. If your Server.cfg uses a fixed rotation (MapRotationMode=LayerList), add them to LayerRotation.cfg instead. The mod's Workshop page usually lists its layer names.
Tip
Some mods do more than add maps, and only turn those extra features on when they are listed in ModsConfig.cfg in SquadGame/ServerConfig/. The mod's Workshop page tells you if it needs this and which ID to add.
