Your Starbound server is installed from Steam with the latest version of Starbound. Here is how to keep the game and your Steam Workshop mods up to date.

Updating Starbound

If Chucklefish releases a Starbound update, install it with a reinstall.

Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.

In the sidebar, go to Settings and click Reinstall in the top-right.

Select Verify integrity, then confirm and wait for the install to finish.

Start your server.

Note

Your universe, settings and uploaded mods are kept when you update this way.

With Auto Update on, your server checks your Workshop mods for updates every time it starts or restarts and downloads any new versions. With it off, your server only downloads mods it doesn't have yet.

Log in to Bropanel and select your server.

In the sidebar, go to Settings.

Under Updates, enable or disable Auto Update.

Click Save & Restart to apply your changes.

To update your mods, make sure Auto Update is on and restart your server. Players need the updated mods too, which Steam downloads for them when they're subscribed.
