How To Add Steam Workshop Mods To Your Starbound Server

Your Starbound server can run mods from the Steam Workshop. You list the mods in the panel, and your server downloads them from Steam when it starts.

How To Get Your Workshop Mod IDs

Open the mod's page on the Steam Workshop and copy its URL, for example https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=729480149. The Workshop ID is the number at the end of the URL; in this case, the Workshop ID is 729480149. You can also paste the whole URL into the panel.

Adding Workshop Mods

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Settings.
  3. 3
Under Modding, make sure Steam Workshop Mods is enabled.
  4. 4
Edit Workshop Mod IDs and add the Workshop IDs of your mods, separated by commas.
    • For a single mod: 729480149
    • For multiple mods: 729480149,731465268,1089421344
  5. 5
Click Save & Restart to apply your changes.

The mods download while your server starts, and the console shows a line for any mod that couldn't be downloaded. Check that its Workshop page is public and that it's a Starbound mod. With Auto Update on, your mods also update every time the server restarts.

To remove a mod, delete its ID from Workshop Mod IDs and click Save & Restart. Your server deletes the mod's files on the next start. To start your server without any of its Workshop mods, disable Steam Workshop Mods instead; your list is kept.

Caution

Players need the same mods as your server. Ask them to subscribe to the same Workshop items before they join, or they may see missing items or crash.

Mods that aren't on the Steam Workshop can be uploaded instead. See Install Mods.
