A server password keeps your Xonotic server private, so only players who know it can join.

Setting A Password

Log in to Bropanel and select your server.

In the sidebar, go to Settings.

Under Basic, edit Server Password and enter the password you want.

Click Save & Restart to apply your changes.

The password can be up to 32 characters and can only use letters, numbers, dashes and underscores.

To make your server public again, clear the Server Password field and click Save & Restart.

Joining A Server With A Password

Xonotic's server browser can't ask for a password, so players join a password protected server from the console.

Open Xonotic and press Shift + Esc to open the console.

Type connect 123.45.67.89:26000 password yourpassword with your server's IP, port and password, then press Enter.

Joining from the server browser or without the right password shows Password required. In the console type: connect <address> password <password> in the console.
